MEET THE EXEC BOARD
Tanvi Talla
President
Tanvi Talla is a junior from Dallas, Texas majoring in Computer Science + Economics and minoring in Business. After completing her undergraduate degree, Tanvi hopes to work in software engineering or technology consulting roles, and eventually obtain an MBA degree. She joined Econ Club because of the ability to meet and collaborate with others interested in economics. In addition to Econ Club, Tanvi is involved in CUBE Consulting as a Senior Consultant. In her free time, she enjoys writing movie reviews, baking cakes, and sketching.
PARTH SHUKLA
Vice President
Parth Shukla is a junior from Naperville, IL studying Finance. He joined Econ Club with an interest in microeconomics after taking ECON 102 with Vasquez. He enjoys playing tennis, basketball, and hanging out with friends. Other than Econ Club, Parth is involved in Illinois Business Consulting. He is interested in the financial markets, investing, data & analytics, and information systems and hopes to one day work for a major financial institution.
Darwin Mui
Vice President
Darwin is the current Vice President of the Economics Club. He is a junior from Chicago, Illinois majoring in Agricultural Accounting with a minor in Business. After his undergraduate degree, Darwin hopes to obtain the CPA certification and work in an accounting firm. He joined Econ Club because he developed an interest in macroeconomics and wanted to explore the different careers associated with them. Outside of Econ Club, Darwin is also involved with the Accounting Club. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching football, and trying new foods.
HANNA FEI
Vice President
Hanna is a junior from the Bay Area in California and is studying Economics and Statistics with a minor in Business. She was first introduced to economics in high school and was surprised by how applicable it is to the choices people make in their daily lives. Hanna hopes to learn more about the intersection between economics and statistics and use it to pursue a career in data analysis. Besides Econ Club, Hanna is involved in UniPlace Community Service RSO, Outdoor Adventure Club, and Inline Insomniacs. She also enjoys making and styling food for her food Instagram, painting, and playing golf.
SAFA WAQAR
Secretary
Safa is a senior majoring in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics with a minor in Business. Her first exposure to economics in high school is what made her want to continue to study it, as she enjoys rigorous reasoning and wanted a deeper understanding of economic theory in all its various forms. She is interested in data analysis and economic research, and hopes to become a consultant upon graduation. On campus, she is also involved in a co-educational service fraternity (Alpha Phi Omega). Aside from economics, she enjoys animals, cooking, and travelling.
Ryan Howard
Secretary
Ryan is a junior majoring in Econometrics & Quantitative Economics. He initially became interested in economics through an AP Microeconomics course. Now, Ryan enjoys learning about data analysis, game theory, and economic history. He hopes to pursue a career in data analytics. In his free time, Ryan likes reading, listening to music, and eating sushi with friends.
Arjun Palaniappan
Treasurer
Arjun is a sophomore from Cedar Rapids, Iowa majoring in Finance. He is interested in investing, financial markets, and how economics applies to an individual’s decisions. After getting his undergraduate degree, Arjun hopes to go into investment banking. Outside of Econ Club Arjun is involved in investment Portfolio Organization, Illinois Music Business Club, and is a member of the Acacia Fraternity. In his free time, Arjun enjoys lifting, playing pick-up basketball, and hanging out with his friends.
Ifeoluwa Adeyinka
Social Chair
Ifeoluwa Adeyinka goes by Ife (e-feh). She is a sophomore majoring in Economics. She is the Social Chair. She is also involved in ACA (African Cultural Association). She looks forward to securing a career in investment banking! She looks forward to meeting and connecting with the students in Econ Club!
Bart Florczyk
Director of Public Relations
Bart Florczyk is a sophomore studying in economics with a minor in business and informatics. He is very interested in using economics to help manage investments and hopes to pursue a career in investment management. He initially developed interest in Economics in AP Macro and continues to enjoy expanding his knowledge on the field. He is also a member of Zagloba Polish Club, and enjoys lifting and reading in his free time.

Jessica Avalos
Professional Chair
Jessica is a Sophomore from Wheeling, Illinois majoring in Economics and Statistics. She is interested in pursuing a career in data science and analytics to assist in the development of new programs. Academically, she likes learning about statistics and conflict in Latin American countries. In her free time, Jessica enjoys thrifting, searching for professional development opportunities, and helping others. She hopes to help Econ Club members find and reach their professional goals!
Payal Rathore
Academic Chair
Payal Rathore is a sophomore majoring in Econometrics and Quantitative Economics. Her interest in economics began in high school and grew while taking courses in college because of its relevance to current affairs and everyday life. Payal has also been involved with The Daily Illini and looks forward to volunteering on campus. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, listening to music and re-watching The Office.
Juhi Lokare
Director of Public Relations
Juhi is a sophomore from New Jersey and is studying Econometrics and Quantitative Economics. She is interested in the various applications of economics in health, education, and the natural environment. More specifically, in the use of big data and statistical modeling to analyze economic issues and policy questions in these fields. On campus, Juhi is also involved in her sorority, Alpha Xi Delta. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music, going to concerts, and traveling.
Zoe Martinand
Academic Chair
Zoe is a sophomore from the Chicago suburbs studying Computer Science + Economics. Within economics, she is interested in learning about economic growth and how computer science can be used to model it. Outside of the Economics Club, Zoe is an officer for Alpha Omega Epsilon, a social-professional sorority, and is involved with ACM. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, painting, and reading.
